International Workshop «Computational Linguistics»


June 1-2, 2018, St. Petersburg, Russia

International Workshop «Computational Linguistics» (CompLing-2018) will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia on June 1-2, 2018 as a joint event of two conferences – “Digital Transformations & Global Society” (DTGS-2018) and “Internet and Modern Society” (IMS-2018). It will be organized within the framework of the Information Society Technologies Week at the ITMO University and the National Research University Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg Campus).

The goal of the workshop is to discuss the actual issues of interaction of linguistics and information technologies – regarding the development of technology solutions on the basis of a natural language, and the influence of information technologies on the language. Target audience are linguists of all profiles, the staff of organizations developing information systems that involve natural language processing, specialists in knowledge representation, higher education teachers, translators.

Authors intending to participate need to register and submit a paper:

– For English-language session (paper in English, publication in “Communications in Computer and Information Science” series by Springer, indexed in Scopus) authors need to submit a paper to DTGS via the EasyChair system (;

– For Russian-language session (paper in Russian, publication in IMS-2018 Proceedings, RSCI indexed) authors need to submit a paper to IMS (

Important Dates – Paper Submission:

DTGS conference (in English) – 1 February 2018.

IMS conference (in Russian) – 1 March 2018.

Participants must present their reports in person, not showing up at the conference will automatically lead to the exclusion of the paper from DTGS / IMS Proceedings and the workshop program.

To be accepted to the workshop a paper must be original, not published anywhere else before or being under review. A paper can be either in English or Russian. All papers undergo a double-blind peer review by no fewer than 3 experts for the English session and 1 expert for the Russian session. The authors of accepted papers will be invited to participate in the workshop as speakers.

After the conference all accepted papers will be published in:

the “Computational Linguistics and Digital Ontologies” (in Russian), serial edition (ISSN 2541-9781) indexed by Russian Scientific Citation Index. The submission guidelines can be found via the link
